Waldron Award Winners
Each spring the Nina & Cyrus Waldron Award is given to two 8th grade students. To be considered for this award, students must have at least a 3.0 GPA. They must also show leadership and involvement in school/community programs and above all, they must show a commitment to helping others.   The winners of this award are chosen by secret ballot vote of the Waldron staff. This year’s winners of the Nina & Cyrus Waldron Award were Jacob Schmitt & Carrie Blackwell. Thank you for all your involvement throughout your years at Waldron and good luck in high school!

Summer Discoveries

During the month of July, Waldron students will have an opportunity to attend our Summer Discoveries program. This is a four-week enrichment program designed to help students keep skills that they have learned during the past school year. Student who are returning to KD for a second year or entering grades 1-4 in the fall are eligible to sign up for this program. Reading, writing math and science are some of the subjects we focus on, as well as special activities like art projects, field trips and guest speakers. Classes will be held on Tuesday, through Thursdays from July 7–30th. Sessions meet in at Waldron from 9:00 until 12:00 noon.   Transportation is the responsibility of the parents, but we will be glad to provide information to help arrange car pools for interested parents. Students who have been referred to Summer Discoveries by their classroom teachers have already been notified. Other students interested in enrolling in Summer Discoveries may do so by calling the school at 593-2160. There will be a tuition charge of $120.00 for those who have not been referred. If you have any questions regarding Summer Discoveries, please feel free to contact Ms. Jackson at 593-2160, ext. 29.
