Mr. Joel Mero is the new Fowler High School counselor starting in the 2009-2010 school year. Mr. Mero is in his fourth year on the high school staff and continues to teach social studies courses in addition to his counseling responsibilities. His job includes personal counseling, career exploration and guidance, being a crisis response team member, director of standardized testing, MME coordinator for the school district, organizer of job shadowing and college visitations, and vocational tech coordinator. He is endorsed by the State of Michigan as a school counselor, and is a member of the Clinton County Counselor's Association. In the past he has coached JV football and track.

College Link is a website to be utilized by future college students and their parents to help answer many of their questions as their sons/daughters embark on their collegiate careers. Steven J. Spicer Scholarship Athlete Award--Senior acpplications available in the Counselor's office. Applications will be passed out to seniors in March and must be completed and returned by the second week in April. This is a $500 scholarship that is awarded to a female and male.
Katherine and Joseph Koenigsknecht College Scholarship --Senior Applications are available in the Counselor's office and must be completed by the third week of April. a $500 scholarship is awarded to a college bound female and male.
Mark and Marie Fox Scholarship--This scholarship is in honor of Mark and Marie Fox and stresses the importance of learning, citizenship, and community service. Applicants must demonstrate involvement and achievement in a challenging curriculum and must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. All must demonstrate that they sought challenges and made the most of opportunities that were presented to them. Applicants must show evidence of community service and be leaders in and outside the classroom. In the essay section of the application, students must show how they plan to be productive citizens.
Norman J. and Rosaline M. Luttig Scholarship--The purpose of the fund is to provide scholarships to deserving high school graduates who reside in Clinton County, Michigan and who are pursuing an architectural or engineering degree. Students eligible for scholarships must be a graduating high school senior, be a resident of Clinton County, Michigan, have confirmed acceptance into one of the following schools at a four year college or university: Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering; and, have a high school GPA of 3.0. Seniors are encouraged to make applications to the college or trade school of their choice by Christmas vacation. This enables the student to see their options and make informed decisions about a future career. Seniors should now be filling out scholarships applications and searching for all forms of financial aid. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) should be completed by the student and parent/guardian during January and February. The FAFSA is due in the processors hands by March 1 to be eligible for state aid. The high school Counselor's, the financial aid person at the college of choice, and the federal aid program, at 1-800-433-3243, will assist in completing the FAFSA.
Semester exams are counted as 20% of the final semester grade. Please encourage your son/daughter to prepare well and give their best effort on the tests.
